Ventnor Golf Club has invested in a new e-commerce website, so club memberships will now be managed as subscriptions. An e-commerce plugin called WooCommerce handles online sales, including Green Fees and Memberships.
Like any other e-commerce platform, the website shop follows a simple procedure when a customer purchases online. The customer uses a shopping cart and completes several steps to place or complete their order.
To manage memberships, Ventnor Golf Club has set up all memberships as subscription products. They use a GoCardless payment gateway to create Direct Debit payments for the different memberships.

Starting your purchase
Once you land on the membership page, you will see a list of all the available plans. Select the plan that you prefer, and then click on the “Get Started” button. This will take you to the subscription/membership product. Follow the outlined steps to complete your purchase smoothly and without any issues.
Choosing Your Subscription
- Select Your Subscription Type: You can choose between an annual or monthly subscription. Click the appropriate option to add it to your basket.
- Select Subscribe: You can choose how many subscriptions. Click the appropriate option to add it to your basket.
- View Your Basket: Click the ‘View Basket’ button to review your chosen subscription. This page, titled ‘Cart’, displays your order total and details.
- Proceed to Checkout: Click the ‘Proceed to Checkout’ button to move forward with your purchase.
Select Your Subscription: You can choose between an annual or monthly subscription.
View Your Basket: Review your chosen subscription by clicking the ‘View Basket’ button.
Proceed to Checkout: Click the ‘Proceed to Checkout’ button to move forward with your purchase.
Checkout
- Complete Billing Details: Fill in your billing information as required.
- Review Order Details: Check the summary of your order to ensure accuracy.
- Save Bank Details for Direct Debit: Opt to save your bank details for easier future transactions.
- Subscribe: Click to subscribe, which redirects you to the GoCardless Payment Gateway for Direct Debit setup.
Complete Your Order: Enter billing information, review your order, save bank details, and then subscribe to be redirected to GoCardless for Direct Debit setup.
Subscribe & Payment
- GoCardless Direct Debit Mandate – Step 1: Enter your personal details on GoCardless and click ‘Continue’.
- GoCardless Direct Debit Mandate – Step 2: Provide your bank sort code and account number, then click ‘Continue’.
- GoCardless Direct Debit Mandate – Step 3: Review and confirm your details to complete the Direct Debit setup.

Order Confirmation
- Confirmation & Account Setup: Once the Direct Debit mandate is complete, you’ll be redirected back to the website to the ‘Orders Received’ page, confirming your successful subscription.
- Welcome & Order Emails: Ventnor Golf Club will send you a welcome email with your account details and an order confirmation email. Additionally, GoCardless will confirm your Direct Debit setup.
Confirmation & Account Setup: After completing the Direct Debit mandate, you’ll be redirected to the ‘Orders Received’ page to confirm your subscription.

How to Clear Your Browser Cache.
Clearing your browser cache can help resolve common issues with web pages, such as loading or formatting problems. Follow these concise steps for the most common browsers:
Google Chrome
- Click the three dots in the top-right corner.
- Go to More tools > Clear browsing data.
- Choose the time range. To delete everything, select All time.
- Check Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files.
- Click Clear data.
Mozilla Firefox
- Click the menu button (three horizontal lines) and select Settings.
- Go to the Privacy & Security panel.
- In the Cookies and Site Data section, click Clear Data.
- Check Cookies and Site Data and Cached Web Content.
- Click Clear.
Safari
- Go to Safari > Preferences, and click on the Advanced tab.
- Enable the Show Develop menu in menu bar option.
- From the menu bar, select Develop > Empty Caches.
Microsoft Edge
- Click the three dots in the top-right corner.
- Select Settings > Privacy, search, and services.
- Under Clear browsing data, click Choose what to clear.
- Select Cached images and files and any other data you want to clear.
- Click Clear now.
